Hi Tim, thank you for investigating.

I had now discussion with the pilot who flew today and was informing me via short message.

He told me the same now. He saw this RA(T) with activation time from 12 June 2025 til 28 June 2025. But there was a misunderstanding. FIS told him, that the NOTAM is active, but the RA(T) is not at the moment.

So thank you for clarification and that it works as it should.

Update: you were misinformed. We already have this area. Please refer to VFR SUP 30/25. The area is not yet showing on our charts because its activity times are 25 June to 28 June. If you plan a flight for 25 June you'll see it appear.

Thanks. I will write to DFS to determine why that restricted area was not notified via the VFR AIP.

Hi Tim,

here is an additional RA(T) from today morning which is not permanently shown on the moving map. The flight information service confirms, that the RA(T) Bueckeburg is active. Please check.

RA(T) Bueckeburg

Only visible after clicking on "Show on map"

That's a nice idea, but beyond scope at the moment. The chief argument against it is that various definitions of night are available, in terms of exact timings.

Hello Christian,

EDR164 is night-only airspace, so you won't see it on your map at all unless you switch on airspace that's only active at night (in your Mapping menu). Once you've switched it on, you'll see it has an orange border because of the NOTAM activating it. Please confirm.

Hello Tim,

thanks for the explanation, I wasn’t aware of that menu option to switch on the night-only airspaces.
Now the restricted areas are displayed correctly.
Would it be possible to have these restricted areas shown automatically during planning or flight if it’s a night flight?

Just to confirm. Today and until tomorrow (28.05.2025 - 29.05.2025) the ED-R Humboldt is active again:

https://www.daec.de/media/files/Dateien/Fachbereiche/Luftraum_und_Flugsicherheit/NfL_2025-1-3498_ED-R_Humboldt.pdf

SkyDemon is showing the airspace of the ED-R as expected. Thank you again for solving the problem.

Thank you, that was very helpful. I was able to recreate the exact NOTAM and feed it through our system to determine how was it processed. I can confirm that SkyDemon did not graphically depict that NOTAM.

As is often the case with things like this, it happened because multiple factors aligned. The most important factor was that the uncommon RTCS code was used to establish the RA(T), where normally RTCA is used. This was a defect in SkyDemon and has been resolved effective immediately, so this cannot happen again. The other factors were the radius of the NOTAM being quite large, and the absence of any polygon inside Item E.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Hello Tim,

yesterday (17.03.) I noticed the same problem with an activation of ED-R164 LANTA that it showed up in the NOTAM Briefing Tab but was not visible on the map during planing or flying mode or on the Warnings Tab.
During the flight it only was visible in the map if you tab on the NOTAM and then "Shiw on map", but not in the vertical profile.

Today there is an activation with the same time, if you maybe want to check it.

Christian

Hi Tim, thank you very much for the clarification and solving that issue asap in your SkyDemon code (RTCS code in the NOTAM). So hopefully there will be no such airspace violations in the future because of the lack of the visual representation on the map.

I can only raise the awareness of all VFR pilots to check in every case additionally the NOTAM/Warning tab and not only rely on the visual part of the moving map. Otherwise it could leads to serious consequences by the authorities.

Thanks again
